From 1939-1946, 38 MHS students served in WWII. Two lost their lives.  A plaque listing the names of all HMS graduates who served in the was was donated to the school. It hung in a stairwell of the building.  This plaque is now  displayed in a more prominnently on campus.  The plaque was set in stone and a second stone with an engraved war scene was added.
